Terms of Service

Last updated: March 25, 2026

Acceptance

By using Geuse | Curator ("Muse"), you agree to these terms.

Service Description

Muse provides art discovery, artwork metadata, inspiration links, and curator features powered by on-device and server-side AI. Artwork data and media are sourced from museum open-data collections, institution-hosted public media, and other third-party sources identified in the app.

Subscription (Muse+)

Muse+ is an auto-renewable subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You may manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings after purchase. Refunds are handled by Apple and are subject to Apple's refund policies.

If a free trial is offered, any unused portion of the free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable. Pricing, billing periods, and availability may vary by storefront or territory.

Apple Platform Terms

If you download or use the Muse iOS app through the Apple App Store, your use of the app is subject both to these Terms of Service and to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA), as well as the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions and other Apple terms that apply to your device, App Store use, purchases, or Apple Account.

Apple's Standard EULA governs the licensed use of the iOS app as distributed through the App Store. These Terms of Service govern your relationship with Geuse and your use of Muse services, subscriptions, website content, artwork discovery features, AI features, and other non-Apple aspects of the service.

If these Terms of Service conflict with Apple's mandatory terms for App Store distribution or licensed app use, the applicable Apple terms control to that extent. Otherwise, both sets of terms apply together.

Artwork and Third-Party Content

Muse displays artwork images, metadata, attributions, and related material supplied by third-party institutions and data providers, including museum open-data programs and institution-hosted public media. Those institutions and providers retain responsibility for their content, including its accuracy, completeness, availability, licensing status, attribution requirements, rights clearances, and any takedown or correction requests.

Muse is a presentation and discovery layer for that content. Except where we explicitly say otherwise, we do not claim ownership of third-party artwork, images, or metadata made available through the app.

Art Source Credit and License

Artwork and metadata available in Muse may be subject to source-specific licenses, terms of use, attribution rules, or public-domain notices published by the originating institution. Your use of third-party artwork, media, metadata, or linked source pages outside the app is your responsibility and remains subject to the applicable source terms and rights notices.

Where relevant, source names, attributions, and links are provided for identification and credit. If you are a rights holder or source institution and believe content should be corrected, re-attributed, or removed, contact us at info@geuse.io.

External Links and Inspiration

Muse may include "Inspiration" items or links to external collection pages, museum websites, or other third-party resources. Those links are provided for convenience only. We do not control, monitor, or endorse third-party websites, content, services, or rights statements, and we are not responsible for their availability, content, policies, or terms.

Unreviewed Content and AI Outputs

Artwork metadata, descriptions, dates, artist attributions, availability, and related source information may be unreviewed, incomplete, out of date, translated imperfectly, or changed by the source institution without notice. Muse does not guarantee that third-party artwork records are current, complete, or error-free.

Muse also includes AI-generated outputs, including curator responses, discovery suggestions, summaries, search assistance, and related recommendations. AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, biased, or otherwise unsuitable for your intended use. They are provided for general informational and discovery purposes only and are not professional, legal, financial, medical, curatorial, provenance, valuation, authenticity, conservation, or academic advice.

You are responsible for reviewing important information independently before relying on it, especially for purchases, rights decisions, academic work, collection research, or any other consequential use.

Acceptable Use

Do not use Muse for illegal purposes or to harass others. We may suspend access for abuse.

Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Muse, all artwork content, metadata, links, and AI features are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. We disclaim all warranties including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, quiet enjoyment, and availability.

We do not warrant that Muse will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or compatible with every device, network, or use case, or that any content will remain available.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Geuse, its affiliates, and its service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, goodwill, data, use, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of, inability to use, or reliance on Muse, third-party content, linked resources, subscriptions, or AI outputs, even if advised of the possibility of those damages.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims arising out of or relating to Muse will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to us for Muse+ in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) US $25. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

User Responsibility

You use Muse, third-party artwork content, external links, and AI-generated outputs at your own risk. You are responsible for how you interpret, rely on, share, reuse, or act on content made available through the app, and for complying with any third-party licenses, attribution rules, rights notices, and applicable laws.

Indemnity

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Geuse and its affiliates, officers, agents, and service providers from claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses arising out of your misuse of Muse, your violation of these terms, or your violation of third-party rights in connection with content obtained through the app.
